Long Chess
Two boards joined into one 8×16 field
Push two boards end to end and play on a board twice as deep. The extra distance completely changes how pawns, rooks, and endgames behave.
How it plays
- 1
The two boards form one continuous 8×16 field.
- 2
White starts on the near board, Black on the far edge of the second.
- 3
Move hints ripple across the seam onto the other board.
- 4
Pawns have a much longer march, so promotion becomes a real project.
What the lights do
Legal-move hints continue across both boards, so a rook's range lights up sixteen squares deep.
